Pregnant feet and baby shower sneak peek!

Happy Monday!! It's the final Monday of summer school and I am sippin' on a grande iced coffee from Starbucks, all caught up on my work before the kiddos show up. Not a bad way to start my week :)

Sami's Shenanigans

I had a fabulous weekend and hope y'all had the same. Saturday was a catch-up kind of day... taking care of the housework that I'm too tired for all week and working on my assignments for grad school that I'm too tired for all week. See a theme here? Jeff went up to the lake with his dad for the day so after my work was done, I treated myself to a mani/pedi and went shoe shopping. Even though I have been living in Old Navy flip flops all summer, I decided I wanted to wear heels or wedges to my baby shower. Shoe shopping while pregnant is um, let's just say, ridiculous. I have always loathed my feet. They're tiny and wide with a high arch, not exactly the most ideal for many popular styles right now. I love wearing a shoe with a high heel but now that I'm pregnant, my feet won't fit into them. As in, sausage toes everywhere. Shoe shopping at the very end of the day isn't the best idea for a preggo, either. My feet were definitely a bit swollen but I think they also grew. I can usually wear a 6.5/7 but I was pushing an 8. I must have tried on about 50 pairs of sandals and wedges before coming across a pair of dressed up flip flops. Praise the Lord, they were $10 on clearance at TJ's. I was really ready to start flinging shoes all over the place, Theresa Giudice style, if tables were shoes. Apparently the people that say they love shoe shopping because shoes always fit, have never been shoe shopping while pregnant. I'll definitely be flip-flopping until this child is born.

Sunday was my baby shower!!! It was such a beautiful shower, hosted my my mother, mother-in-law, sister, and sisters-in-law. Every little detail was perfect and baby girl was insanely spoiled. I feel so incredibly blessed to be surrounded by so many people who already love my little one so much already. The shower had a book theme and everyone brought a book with their gift or in lieu of a card. Love, love, love!! Baby girl's book shelves are officially full!! I can't tell you how happy this makes my teacher heart! My sister took lots of pictures and I will do a full recap once I have them all, but for now, here's a peek from my sister-in-laws Instagram pics.

Only 8 more weeks until we meet the star of the show!! :)

  4. Everyone says your feet will grow and that you won't be able to fit into your normal shoe size after pregnancy. But I'm here to tell you that that's not necessarily true! While my feet were a bit swollen during the end of pregnancy, they went back down to normal afterwards and I have not had to get rid of one pair of my precious shoes. So don't worry! Just keep it comfortable for now, and hopefully after your little princess arrives, you will be able to get back into all of your heels:)

  7. LOVE the dress you wore! And I'm honestly a little jealous of you and your feet situation! I'm a size 10 shoe and I am TERRIFIED of them growing! So far no swelling or growing that I can tell, buttttt I live in FL and rarely wear non-flip flops. I'm so scared that I'll go to put on real shoes this winter on one of the 7 cold days a year, and find that my feet are a 10 1/2 or 11. So at least maybe you'll get your feet a bit longer? LOL! They don't make 10 1/2 shoes so I REALLY hope mine don't! (Although I'll hope yours don't change for the sake of your shoe collection!)

  9. Love all the pink!! Love the sneak peak- can't wait to see more. None of my of shoes fit after 32 weeks and then by 36 weeks I could only wear flip flops- I couldn't even wedge my feet into flat sandals! I also think my left foot grew- I tried on sandals last week and my normal size fit my right foot but was too small on my left!! I almost freaked out. I'm hoping that maybe I just need to give it more time and lose more baby weight before I try on any new shoes.
